When the Stars Aligned 

Some might call it fate, while others might say it was serendipity, but Katie and Matt truly believe the stars aligned to bring them together. Both Katie and Matt moved to Atlanta in 2015, each chasing their dreams in the commercial real estate industry. On a typical weekday afternoon, they were busy networking, determined to make the right connections. As luck would have it, the person they were both scheduled to meet had double-booked his meetings that day. In a brief but fateful overlap, Katie and Matt locked eyes, shook hands, and exchanged polite introductions before parting ways. They often speak of the instant attraction they felt, but life moved on, and they didn’t cross paths again for another two years. Their shared love for an active, vibrant lifestyle led both Katie and Matt to make their homes along the Atlanta Beltline. One evening, after a run, Katie was heading back to her apartment when Matt, by sheer coincidence, held the door open for her. They exchanged confused hellos, each recognizing the other but unsure how. It wasn’t until later that evening that Matt put the pieces together and sent Katie a message on LinkedIn, reminding her of their brief meeting during that double-booked lunch two years prior. As fate would have it, Matt had just moved into an apartment four doors down from Katie on the very same floor! Despite this uncanny proximity, their lives continued separately, though each couldn’t help but notice the new “neighborhood eye candy.” Fast forward another two years, and Katie and Matt's paths crossed yet again at a commercial real estate event—a Sunday race at Talladega. This time, Matt was determined not to let Katie slip away. He was the perfect gentleman, attentive to her every need. He carried her backpack, refilled her drinks, and even offered to help take photos of her and the other female brokers. As the day unfolded, they reminisced about their first meeting and their time as Beltline neighbors. Though they had since moved away, they realized that once again they were neighbors—this time on the opposite side of the city in Chamblee! The very next day, Matt asked Katie on their first date, and from that point on, their love story truly began. The rest, as they say, is history and now they're getting married!!!

Allison was one of Katie’s first friends after moving to Atlanta, though she was a tough nut to crack. Allison trained Katie at her first job out of college, and from that point on, they developed a strong connection, following each other to three different companies. Eventually, Allison welcomed Katie into her large circle of friends. They share a love for interior design, music, dancing, animals, and so much more. Together, they’ve navigated some of life’s toughest challenges, and through it all, they know their friendship is one that will last a lifetime.

Ari and Katie’s bond has evolved beautifully from friendship to family, particularly since Ari married Katie’s cousin Philip. Their connection has grown deeper through meaningful conversations, a shared passion for cooking, and a mutual love for working out, adventures, music, fashion and family. Together, they make family gatherings even more special, infusing them with joy, laughter, and warmth. Their relationship promises a lifetime of love and unforgettable memories, enriching every moment they share.

Ashley and Katie’s friendship ignited with lively nights out and blossomed when they became neighbors in their mid-twenties. Their bond deepened through shared workouts, cozy evenings in, heartfelt conversations, and exploring new ramen restaurants close to home. Even with occasional stretches apart, their connection remains unshakable, rooted in shared values and mutual understanding. When together, they can truly be themselves, often getting the “zoomies” as their energy amplifies. Ashley and Katie’s friendship stands as a reflection of enduring connection that thrives on authenticity.

Courtney and Katie have been inseparable since they first met over five years ago. Their friendship has flourished through early morning workouts, work events, double dates, fun-filled vacations, cozy nights in, and vibrant girls' nights out. Built on shared interests, unwavering loyalty, mutual support, and a shared sense of humor, their bond has grown stronger with every passing year. Courtney has also introduced Katie to some of her closest friends, further enriching their circle. Through every laugh, adventure, and challenge, they’ve created an unbreakable connection that continues to deepen over time.

Courtney Simo 

Hilary is one of Katie’s longest-standing friends, with a bond that has lasted nearly two decades. Hilary was Katie’s first friend after she moved to Stevens Point, Wisconsin, from boarding school during the second semester of their sophomore year of high school. They met in their first-period photography class, and on Katie’s first day, Hilary welcomed her with open arms, saying, “You want to be friends?!” Through all of life’s ups and downs, their friendship has been a steady anchor, providing unforgettable memories, constant laughter, and unwavering love and support. Their connection is a beautiful testament to the power of friendship and the joy of growing together through all of life’s seasons.



Hilary Forrest 

Kelli is not only Katie’s close friend but also her soon-to-be sister-in-law, as she is Matt’s sister. Meeting “the sister” can be intimidating for many, but from the moment they first met during Easter weekend at Kelli’s home three years ago, Kelli made Katie feel warm and welcomed like family. Their bond has been effortless and heartwarming from the start, growing stronger with each passing day. They look forward to raising their families side by side, weaving together a lifetime of love, joy, and unforgettable memories.

Katie and Nikki first met at a mutual friend's wedding during Covid, where Nikki, a true social butterfly, quickly welcomed Katie into her world of fun, frequent, and glamorous gatherings, introducing her to some of her very best friends. Both adventurous foodies, they never shy away from a culinary challenge and share endless laughter over their equally sharp and dark humor. Katie admires Nikki’s thoughtfulness, unwavering encouragement, loyalty, and refreshingly blunt honesty—haha! Their dedication to communication has been the foundation of their friendship, allowing them to grow even closer over the years.

Nikki Wood

Rachel and Katie have been friends for over a decade, evolving from high school rivals to college roommates, and now navigating adulthood side by side. They’ve been there for each other through every chapter of life—from late-night study sessions and fun trips to career moves and major milestones. Despite living hundreds of miles apart, whenever they reunite, it feels as if no time has passed at all. Their friendship is filled with laughter, unconditional support, and a deep understanding that no distance can ever weaken their bond. It's the perfect example of how friends can turn into family.

Rachel Hennessey 

Matt first met Bo shortly after he moved to Florida, at just nine years old. They made the same little league baseball team that year, and Matt could tell right away that Bo was different. That first season, Bo was the team’s top pitcher, and Matt the top catcher. Even at such a young age, and so early in their friendship, they clicked so well that they called pitches themselves and threw a no-hitter that same season. From then onward, they hung out almost every weekend until going away to college. When together, they would be outside all day, playing every backyard sport you can imagine. Most of the time, they were at Bo’s family’s house on the lake with a pool, batting cages, golf carts, 4 wheelers, boats and jet skis. They grew up together, stretching their limits, making mistakes, and becoming men. Bo and Matt aren’t just best friends, but truly brothers for life.

Bo Decker

Not everyone is lucky enough to call their brother-in-law one of their best friends. It didn’t exactly start that way. Matt first met Dillon in 2009 when Dillon began dating Matt's sister, Kelli. Just two years older, Dillon played baseball for Matt’s rival high school. When Dillon started visiting the Parisi house, Matt—like any good brother—felt the need to test him. Fortunately, the family ping-pong table provided the perfect battleground. As things grew more serious between Kelli and Dillon, his visits became more frequent. He was always a gentleman to Kelli and the rest of the Parisi family, and much quicker than Matt expected, he developed a deep liking and respect for Dillon. Their bond took an unexpected turn when Matt transferred high schools and the two became teammates. Dillon was the starting catcher and third hitter in the lineup, while Matt played shortstop and led off. That year, their respect for each other hit an all-time high and hasn’t let up since. Matt could not be happier having Dillon as his brother-in-law and friend, and he looks forward to growing their families together and sharing many more memories to come.

Jay was the first teammate Matt noticed taking extra batting practice at Dartmouth, long after everyone else had left the field to head back to their dorms. That kind of work ethic, paired with his good-hearted nature and goofy yet charming personality, immediately stood out to Matt. That same day, they hit together for hours, sparking an instant connection that made them not only batting practice buddies for the next four years but family-like friends off the field. Along with Mac and Olsy, Jay was one of the few teammates who didn’t join a fraternity but formed a bond that felt like its own. To this day, Matt considers Jay one of the most consistent, selfless, and loyal friends anyone could ask for.

Jay Graham

“Joyce”, was Matt’s first new friend when he transferred high schools during his sophomore year. Matt has never been much of a talker, and certainly not then. But Joyce had this charming goofiness about him that made him easy to talk to. Even more important for their friendship was Joyce’s work ethic. No one else on the team was willing to put in as much work as Joyce. Matt and Joyce instantly became the closest of friends, frequently ditching the lunch room to sneak out and grab food off campus, and taking hours of extra batting practice to better their game. No matter how far apart they’ve lived or gone without talking, getting back together is like they never skipped a beat. Joyce is one of the most loyal friends and good-hearted guys Matt knows.

Matt Joyce 

“Mac”, like both Olsy and Jay, was one of a few teammates who did not join a fraternity at Dartmouth. Yet, very early into their freshman year, Matt and Mac became like members of their own fraternity, going everywhere around campus together. taking the same classes, and eventually becoming roommates their sophomore year. That year, as roommates together with Olsy, they all received first-team all-conference honors, cementing what would be one of the best years of their lives, as roommates and as best friends. From there on out, Mac and Matt have been close friends and like family to each other.

Matt MacDowell

“Robo” was the first friend Matt made at Dartmouth, and by coincidence, he was also a teammate. The very first time they met, one evening outside the dining hall, they decided to meet up later that night to be "pong" partners and experience their first night out at Dartmouth. From that first night onward, they quickly became close friends, both on and off the field. After an amazing first season as a Freshman, leading the team with a batting average over .400, Robo had a career-ending injury that forced him to leave the team and his baseball career behind.  That didn’t stop their friendship. Robo and Matt grew closer each year, even after he joined the Navy and went away to train as a Jet pilot. Robo has an uncanny ability to keep things light and funny, but also deep and connected. Their conversations range from Borat impressions to deep discussions about what they want for their futures, and Matt can’t wait to see how both of their lives unfold as friends.  

Matt Robinson

Nick “Mango” Lombardi is Matt’s Italian brother from another mother, his left side of the infield partner in crime, surfing buddy, and accompanying bass guitarist. There’s never a bad time when hanging out with Mango. He lives life in the present as well as anybody Matt knows, and is contagiously happy, always. When they were teammates, Matt and Mango used to talk about going surfing together where Mango lived in Southern California. As soon as they were both done with baseball, they made it happen and it’s a trip Matt tries to make at least once a year, now bringing Katie with him to all surf together. Spending time with Mango is good for the soul, and Matt cherishes him as a friend for life. 

Nick Lombardi

“Olsy” and Matt met early on at Dartmouth, about as early as it gets – on their recruiting trip when they were both still Seniors in high school. A year later, when they both arrived on campus and realized they lived in the same dorm cluster, they started to hang out more often. Respect for each other grew quickly through performance on the baseball field, and very soon into their fall semester, they started hanging out almost every day. Their summer heading into sophomore year, they were roommates with a host family in Ohio for their summer league season, and from then on out they were roommates every year for five years straight, even after college when they both moved to Atlanta. Olsy and Matt have made countless memories together over the years, and can laugh for hours retelling the stories. Matt always says, Olsy and his parents are like his second family away from home, in Atlanta.
